学名： Mulloidichthys flavolineatusT (Lacépède, 1801)
スズキ目ヒメジ科アカヒメジ属

和名と英名ともに成魚から着いた名前です。和名は体に赤い模様があるからで、紋付赤比売知（モンツキアカヒメジ）。英名は黄色の縦じま模様があるからYellowstripe goatfishです。

上下とも写真では見にくいですが実際に幼魚は身体は透明なところに一本明るい筋が入った模様なので見つけやすいです。
